Understanding Origins of Sexual Deviance is a 2-hour continuing education workshop for mental health professionals examining the developmental, psychological, behavioral, and environmental factors associated with sexually deviant thoughts and behaviors. Participants will explore current research on trauma, attachment, cognitive distortions, conditioning, and risk factors while developing evidence-based approaches to assessment, case conceptualization, differential diagnosis, and ethical clinical practice. Case examples and discussion will enhance understanding of these complex presentations in forensic, treatment, and behavioral health settings.
